Bilateral Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) injuries - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing |
|
This stock medical exhibit illustrates bilateral temporomandibular joint (TMJ), cervical spinal, and lower spinal injuries. Three large insets surround an orientation figure consisting of a lateral view with the TMJ and spinal chord. The first inset, a lateral cut-away view, depicts the damage surrounding the TMJ, including grade I chondromalacia, anterior displacement of the meniscus, and adhesive capulitis. The second inset, a sagittal view, outlines the injuries to the cervical spinal area, which include C3-4 disc herniation, C4-5 central and paramedian disc herniation impinging on the anterior thecal sac, and C5-6 central and right paramedian disc herniation impinging on the anterior thecal sac. The spinal cord, dura, intervertebral discs, and numbered vertebral bodies are clearly labeled. The third inset, also a sagittal view, shows the damage to the lower spinal cord, which includes a bulging L3-4 intervertebral disc, L4-5 central and left sided disc protrusion impinging on the anterior thecal sac and spinal cord, and L5-S1 central and left sided disc protrusion displacing the left S1 nerve root. |
